After 2 months of walking (and being bothered by my wife's schedule), I finally picked up my new car yesterday. 2012 Hyundai Accent. Officially, it is the low end model, but they sure fooled me. It's roomy, peppy, and fun to drive. I even got a monthly payment that's less than my phone bill. So, I'm quite thrilled… just like a kid who got his first car, and no longer needs to ask his mom to borrow the car.
Professionally, several of our Spring jobs fell through, so after this week, I have a completely dead schedule through the summer. Anyone know a photographer who needs a retoucher?
Emergency Retouching for Photographers
One day I sat down, and created a Photoshop in 1.5 Hour video class. It is targeted at someone who knows nothing about Photoshop, but would still like to make some simple and basic corrections. I go from open to save in as few steps as possible, but still give a working knowledge of the program. Basically, just enough to break free of the clutter, and get you focused. If you received this email, you only need to log into your account to access it.

Retouching Basics
David Cross managed to do Photoshop in 7 minutes. Darn it Dave! Obviously not as comprehensive as mine, but he does manage to hit upon a very simplified walk-through. It does give me an idea of what I can add to mine though.

Reverse Retouching
An interesting debate has started over here about models being too thin to start with, so the retoucher is tasked with making her look normal again. I can certainly say that being out on shoots with models, they definately look better being thin, as the camera adds weight, but some are just scary looking. The thread includes images to make you question the woman's state of mind, and need to remain this thin, just to keep a job.

Hair Brushes
For those in my classes, you know that offer a few brushes for eyelashes and irises. Below is a link for a Photoshop Brush Set to mimic hair. Free to download.

Understanding Histograms
Here is a video from my favorite, Ben Wilmore. If you would like to learn more about histograms, then this would be the place to watch it.

More Brushes
Less targeted than the previous brush, this is a page with 50 brushes, more or less useful. Kinda depends on your goal. All free.

Linked Smart Objects
If you know nothing about Smart Objects, then this is not for you. If you have already seen my Free Class about Smart Objects, or know of them, then Linked Objects is fairly new addition to Photoshop. I mentioned about this last time, that I thought this would confuse many people, and lead to accidentally altered Photoshop images. But in any case, here you go.

Photoshop Basic 2 Course Starts This Saturday
If you have some Photoshop knowledge, then this would be a good class for you to join. I will not be going back to the beginning, nor will I jump too far ahead. You will learn proper sequencing, develop your skills and and learn tool control. Become empowered, and inspired.
Basic 2 Photoshop 20 Hour Course (Starting May 18th):
