Emergency Retouching Class – This is an introduction to Adobe Photoshop for people who want to learn Photoshop using the path of least resistance. I will be showing you the easiest way I could think of, that would give you the most positive experience in using the tool to fix your images. While there will always be more things for you to learn, this will at least get you up, and over that hump of getting started.

Camera Raw Explained – If you have a DSLR Camera, your images open in Camera Raw, not Photoshop. Start here to conquer this tool first.
Palettes and Navigations – Once inside Photoshop, we will start by undertsnading how to move palettes around. It’s pretty basic, but most of my students have no idea.
Photoshop CC Preferences – I spend a few minutes talking about the most important settings you may want to change. Even if you have an older version, you can still watch this, and just ignore anything not relevant.
Options Bar – There is an Options Bar that runs across the top of your screen. Don’t touch it! Ok, I kid. You can touch it all you want.
Info Palette – Obviously, this will provide you will all sorts of ever changing information about your active tool, and document.
Layers Palette – Most of my students have no clue how to use this, at first. It’s pretty straight forward once someone shows it to you.
History Palette – This was pretty amazing when they came out with this. You can keep going backwards to a previous point in time. If only I could apply this to my life. >sigh<
Hand and Zoom Tools – Use the Magnifying Glass to zoom in and out of your document. Then, you can use the Hand Tool to move around the image.
Color Picker – My mother told me to pick this one. You get the reference, right? Anybody? No? Fine. Use this to pick your colors if needed. More for Graphic Design, but we discuss it anyway.
Spot Healing – The easiest way to remove blemishes and fly away hairs is to use the Spot Healing Brush.
Adjustment Layers – One of the greatest achievements in Photoshop, these will allow you to create a Non-Destructive workflow.
Levels – This tool will allow you to make some basic Tonal Changes to your images. You can fix Exposure and Contrast with this.
Vibrance – Need to add some Saturation to your image? Use this adjustmentt, that includes two different tools in one.
Selective Color – My favorite of all the Adjustment Layers, you can use this one to make all of your color chnages.
Lasso Tool – Here, I cover the Lasso, Polygonal Lasso, and the Magnetic Lasso. This will help you create very simple selections.
Magic Wand and Quick Selection Tools – Like the Lasso tools, these are pretty basic. But, they will get you started.
Rulers and Guides – No one ever talks about Rulers or Guides. i don’;t know why, i use them all the time.
