Advanced Masking Class Notes – PDF
This PDF outlines all the topics covered in the class in a very detailed way. Anything that was not clear to you at the time, can easily be referenced. I would also suggest printing double sided, and put them into a three ring binder. This way, when you finish all the classes, you will have a 100+ page book that you can reference as needed.

Advanced Masking Homework
If you are not completely comfortable with Color Range and QuickMask, this is your #1 priority. You simply can not be an amazing at retouching, without being completely fluent in masking.
If you are ready for more complex masking, you need to practice with the various masking techniques I showed to grab hair and other difficult to reach areas. Refine Edge, Contrasting, Channels, and other ways I showed. Being able to extract complex shapes by adjusting a few sliders is crucial to being quick, and not making a project out of it.
Advanced Masking Class – Video
Expanding on Color Models and Color Profiles, this class will go further into soft proofing, and calibration. This video will not be available until Summer 2016 (+/-). I am actively working on it. It will be ready soon (I hope).
Note: Do NOT Use Google Chrome Browser. Any other browser will work. I simply can’t seem to fix this. Sorry for inconvenience.

Supplemental Tutorials – Videos
These are simply suggestions of added videos that you could benefit from, that were partly covered in the full class. The videos below will give a full, and detailed information about each of the topics. They go beyond what is covered in the class.
Professional Masking – This 8 minute video explains the Color Range and Quickmask technique, combined with expand and contract for a simple and easy way to make complex selections.
Refine Edge – I have become a fan of the Photoshop Refine Edge tool. It’s easy to use, nice results, and better than anything else out there for fine masking hair against busy backgrounds.
Masking with Layers – One of the best ways to grab the most complex of selections. By using various layering techniques to push and pull color and tone, you will be able to grab tiny and intricate details when nothing at all first appears easy.
Masking Hair – Another video heavy on Refine Edge, but also introduces a few other techniques to pull hair away from a busy background.
